Caramelised Onions in Gravy (V)

Ingredients
4 red or white onions
500ml vegetarian gravy granules
100ml rapeseed oil plus extra for sauté
Method
- Pre-heat the oven to 190C
- Generously coat a roasting tray with 100ml of rapeseed oil and heat in the oven for approximately 5 minutes until bubbling
- Peel and cut your onions into quarters
- Sauté with a teaspoon of rapeseed oil for approximately 5 minutes until soft
- Add your onions to the hot oil and ensure that all sides are coated in oil
- Roast for 20 minutes until onions are browned and softened
- Prepare gravy according to instructions (you can use granules or our homemade gravy recipe)
- Decant the onions into a warmed dish ensuring all excess oil is removed
- Cover the onions with the gravy and serve with your roast
